She hoped that he would indeed hold her hand the entire time— and then some. While the sixth knight had never been one for sentimentality or physical displays of affection, she found that it just seemed natural when she was with Gino, and therefore didn’t mind in the slightest. Plus, he was just that type of guy. To deny Gino a bit of his personality wouldn’t make her much of a friend to him.
“Not a clue.” she replied solemnly. “But maybe the layout is similar to Ashford’s?”
“Good point, Anya!”

Although, Ashford was more of a… well it was difficult to discriminate the more he thought about it. As many contrasts as there were, Shibuku and Ashford had their similarities. Finding some ice cream really shouldn’t be too difficult, even if it were out of season. Trees lost their leaves in the winter, but they could still be found through the term.
That comparison made perfect sense in his head.
“Alright then, let’s find some ice cream!” If Suzaku were here, things would be different. Or at least a little bit easier? He fared pretty well among commoners and understood them quite well. But the good news was that little Anya was now being led off by that leggy blond, fingers failing to un-twine from her daintier sort. The exit to this place should be just around the corner….

“We should.” she said, grasping his outstretched hand as if it were the entirely normal thing to do. And between the two of them, it was; though the pink-haired knight didn’t miss the way his expression shifted, and she could help but wonder what he was looking at. though knowing Gino, it might have been nothing in particular.
”But…”
The hand was given a good unfailing squeeze, possibly intending on holding it the entire journey over to the ice cream shop. That was certainly a couple-y thing to do, but it was an especially Gino-y thing to do. Coming here didn’t run him dry of touchyfeely shenanigans.

“Do you have any idea where we could get a map? Unless you’re already familiar with the geography?”

Is it? I thought people tended to use spoons for eating that type of thing.
And you said it would be cold for ice cream, so I thought you meant that I should be wearing a jacket too. In any case, thanks for the offer, but I wouldn’t want to ruin your gloves. Let’s just… eat it with cones.
”Ah? I think it depends!”

“But really, borrowing some gloves wouldn’t be a problem, even if you got ice cream on them. In any case…” A hand was outstretched in offering, while his eyes strayed off ahead. Down the hallway at absolutely nothing in particular but someone passing by might have thought he was bearing witness to something profound. “Cones it is! We should be on our way!”

I can easily wear a jacket.
Is a jacket really the problem? Ice cream is finger food… I’m sure I have some gloves for you to borrow — unless you weren’t thinking about cones?

She gave him a blank stare in return, thinking carefully about what she should supply for an answer. Gino was her friend, she decided. She knew he was shallow and a bit naive, but he was still her greatest ally; and he wasn’t the type to abandon someone for something that landed them in a reform school. The girl glanced from her shoulder, where his hand gave it a reassuring squeeze, then back up to the blonde knight.
“I guess you could say that I finally got in trouble for how reckless I’ve been with the Mordred.” she replied at last. It wasn’t a lie in the slightest, but not the entire truth either. It didn’t bother Anya in the slightest, however; her conscience remained at ease. ”That, and my folks wanted me out of their hair for a while.”
“Or forever, I don’t really know for sure.”
“Finally? So you were expecting something like this?” The chipper query lost it’s spirit as Anya went on about her parents. His grip went lax (but remained on her shoulder, of course) as his head straightened out.

“Settling into a new place is hard, but do you really think your parents would want you to stay here forever?” Not that this was a facility for something like that. “Everyone here has something unfortunate that brought them here, I think the point is to learn from our mistakes.” Instead of dwelling on them and assuming this was some kinda proxy for deportation.
“This place really isn’t bad at all though…! Have you had a tour?”
You want ice cream right now?

Isn’t it too cold for something like that?
“What kind of reunion gathers people who don’t know each other together and makes them take classes about improving their behavior?” she asked bluntly, staring up at him. And though she didn’t quite show it, she was elated to see that Gino seemed his usual self, despite their circumstances.
Ah, and that brought her to another question.
“Why are you here, Gino?”

“Isn’t that basically what school is about? Gathering people of the same age and learning together…?” Paraphrasing, but same idea. As far as he was concerned, the term delinquent could have been used sparingly here.
In his ignorant humble opinion.
“I could be asking you the same thing.” A hand found the girl’s smaller shoulder, still way too happy to be having this conversation. “I guess I need some reforming after all.” Neglecting the details, he gave the pinkette a sideways glance coupled with a careful squeeze.
“Your turn-!”

Hn? I didn’t expect to see you here, of all places. {she snaps a quick picture}

Especially you, “White Knight”— but at least things won’t be boring with you two around.

Suzaku and Gino attend this academy as well, it seems.
…
Familiar company is… nice.

“It’s sort of like a reunion, isn’t it?!” Their surroundings could have been nicer, but nonetheless. The overcast of a less-than-reputable school wasn’t putting a damper on his attitude…
Obviously.
“Suzaku’s been here just as long as I have-!” As if it were something to boast about…
